Natori Green: Green Views
Staple Goods,1340 St. Roch Ave., New Orleans, LA 70117
Exhibition Dates: July 11 – August 2, 2026
Opening reception: Saturday, July 11, 6-9pm
Gallery Hours Sat. & Sun. 12-5pm
In Green Views, Natori Green examines the relationship between landscape, perception, and
memory through oil paintings and naturally dyed textile works. The exhibition also includes
ceramic works and a painting by the artist’s daughter. These works add a parallel thread of material
exploration and color. The exhibition considers how images and identities are shaped through
processes of reflection, accumulation, and change. Green draws on botanical materials and
reflective surfaces. The work shows how people and environments continually shape one another.
Taking its title from both the artist's surname and the act of looking, Green Views brings together
painting, natural dye, and textile practices. It creates a space where seeing becomes an encounter
rather than an observation. The exhibition invites viewers to consider their place within the
ecological and material worlds they inhabit.
The opening reception for the Green Views exhibition at Staple Goods will feature a live
performance by New Orleans–based hip-hop artists D.T. (Demond Taylor) and Say Dez (Desmond
Taylor II), a U.S. Army veteran, whose music has been an important source of inspiration for her
artistic practice.
An artist talk will be held on Sunday, August 2 at 2:00 PM.
